Professional supervision for counsellors
Elevate your counselling practice and maintain your professional accreditation with compassionate advice and support.
Guidance from a trusted mentor and ACA-registered supervisor
Looking for a nurturing and genuine clinical supervisor who can support your professional journey in counselling — from self-care and handling complex cases to ethical practice methods and business approaches that help you and your clients thrive?
I can help. As a registered professional supervisor with the Australian Counselling Association, together we can complete the 10 hours of clinical supervision you need each year to maintain your membership.
I'm Nicole Mathieson, a qualified couple therapist, relationship coach and author.
My unique style comes from all the steps on my path that brought me here. I have been an artist, a teacher, a kinesiologist and now a counsellor and couple therapist.
Areas of focus for professional supervision
I wholeheartedly recommend Nicole as a mentor — she has played a pivotal role in shaping my career. These insightful conversations have deepened my understanding of my path as a therapist and enriched my alignment with my core values. I am so looking forward to our continued work together as she helps guide me on this journey as an early-career therapist.

What to expect during professional supervision for counsellors:
I can help you process and percolate:
- all you have learned from teachings, clinic work and your life experiences, transmuting these into your own unique therapeutic practice that your ideal clients will be drawn to
- any client sessions that you have had or are going to have to help you grow and learn as a professional therapist
- your queries around alignment with the ACA codes and ethics
- your ideas for offerings, frameworks, and therapeutic processes
My preference is not to embrace one therapeutic teaching as the all-holy of wisdom and guidance. Instead, we'll integrate your inputs and allow them to incorporate into your own understanding of healing, humans and the workings of the universe.
My areas of special interest:
Relationships with others, couple counselling, intimacy, libido, relationship with self, body image angst, anxiety, self criticism, lack of self belief, break-up recovery, relationship clarity.
My therapeutic geek loves:
Internal Family Systems (IFS), IFS for couples, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Gottman, Polyvagal theory, Somatic therapy, Kinesiology, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
