3 simple secrets to Pleasure

Let me share with you what I have discovered are the 3 simple secrets to unblocking our natural pleasure capacity.

So in a nutshell,

The 3 simple secrets to pleasure are:

1. Pleasure is not out there – It is a feeling in your heart.

Getting everything perfect does not make you happy. Nourishing your inner world does.

2. Pleasure is abundant – we need to open to it.

The problem is not that there is enough pleasure out there, but that we block ourselves from receiving it.

3. You need to actively nourish pleasure – It takes intention and attention.

It is possible to retrain yourself to experience more pleasure with conscious awareness, dissolving blockages and active intentions.

Stay tuned for the 5 big blocks where I share the most common ways we block out our pleasure.

I would love to hear from you. Which of the 3 simple secrets struck a chord with you? Which secret do you feel will help open you to more pleasure? Leave a message in the comments below to let me know.

Share this post with your friends, you never know one of these secrets may be just what they are needing right now.

Take care

Nicole

Ahhhhhh! I’m saying a big YES to all of those.
“Pleasure is abundant!” – so what I needed to hear right now too!

THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU.

Nicole – You spoke about Pleasure as an experience that happens when we open up to receive it…YES!! This is something I am often relearning and having to remind myself to stop blocking the flow of pleasure…because I’m ‘too busy’ or because it needs to be earned or because it’s doesn’t directly impact my wellbeing (of course it does, but it’s so easy to get caught up in old stories). Thanks for the potent reminders. Your programme sounds incredible.

Thank you Kirri, Yes it is an experience of opening isn’t it and I think sometimes we are not conscious of how often we say no to our own pleasure. So glad you were reminded of that,

    Pleasure is Abundant!

Pleasure happens when we open and soften. What a gem!

You are such an incredible woman!

Definitely # 3 – having the intention and paying attention to building pleasure..it’s so easy to leave it to the side and assume it will come into your life one day. A timely reminder that having everything perfect doesn’t make you happy too, thank you! xoxo

      Thank you Rachelle,
No perfection does not equal happiness. It just makes us anxious.
Always a good one for new mothers

    Ah Nicole,

Love Love Love these reminders. I always need to be reminded of Number 3 – after a long period of stress and feeling detached from pleasure, I often expect it to just materialise in an instant.

    Thanks for sharing so beautifully.

Oh great Lisa, I am so glad that the reminders were useful. And yes, it is good to remember that we can make it happen when we want.
Thank you so much for sharing

Ahhh pleasure! What a great activity! I still recall once session I had with you, Nicole – you had me affirm to “Open to Pleasure” I still use it when I feel caught in a rut and it reminds me to be active and intentional in cultivating pleasure instead of passively allowing blockages to form. Love Love Love.

Ah yes, Leah, such a good reminder that we all need from time to time. Thank you so much for sharing

Oh Nicole this is beautiful. Thank you! Number 1 really struck a chord with me. I often feel like I need to have everything ‘sorted’ before I can reap the rewards or as Kirri said, need to work hard to earn my pleasure.

Thank you for your powerful insights! X

      Hey Tash,

Thank you so much for sharing your insights too. It is a big revelation to know that we can pleasure ourselves when that to-do list is not yet finished.

      Take care

No. 3 is my favourite of these. Pleasure can be found in the simplest of things as long as we intend for the experience to be pleasurable. I think without the intent even a bubble bath and chocolate dipped strawberries could fail to be pleasurable lol.

    • hdgu556jdikb08 on August 4, 2015 at 12:30 am

I totally agree Sandra, we need to be open to the potential.

I need to remind myself that pleasure is available to me in this moment. I know it is, but I don’t receive it as much as I’d like. I really appreciate your words of wisdom. I’m looking forward to exploring your site more thoroughly. Thank you for sharing.

So true Judith, there is pleasure there if we can trust it. Even things that we generally think of as negative don’t have to suck. I wish you ease in your explorations xxN
