Energy refuel
We are, as women, naturally aware of others.
We nurture, we give and we care. This is how we are. And it is really kind of beautiful.
This natural disposition of ours works really well most of the time. But what I see as I help women recover their lust for life, is that the giving can only work if we are refuelling. (I know this is not rocket science but sometimes we gotta make it really clear)
Check out this diagram {straight out of my sketchbook}.
The energy flow goes out towards the world and then it comes back in. It is giving and receiving – yin and yang. The cycle of flow.
But what I have noticed is that we get flat and tired because we aren’t receiving. Not letting the goodness in. Which means we are not getting refuelled. Yet because of our natural instincts to give and nurture – we are still giving out. This creates a state of exhaustion. We are depleted. Our energy is being given at the expense of our well being and it is making us cranky, brittle and resentful.
Just like this diagram shows.
When we don’t allow ourselves pleasure, rest or fun we are blocking the inflow of energy and we are not receiving the goodness. Goodness which is refuelling and energising us.
When we open to pleasure we fill up our tank. We feel energised, alive and overflowing with goodness. In this state we can’t help but have a positive impact on the world around us.
Pleasure is not indulgent. It is essential to our sustainability.
